I do, well mine's a smaller tank and is a Husky labelled compressor. They ARE noisy, so mine is outside and I've plumbed a hose through the wall. A regulator at the booth throttles the 100psi mine pumps out to a workable pressure for the airbrush.

I would also suggest getting a moisture trap to eliminate the water that builds up in tanks.

Otherwise they work great as a compressor for airbrushes.

So long folks!

newbe compressor question

Hi Eveyone,

This is my first post to this site, I am getting back into modeling after about a 25 year break.  This time around I would like to try airbrushing.  I think I have settled on a Iwata eclipse CS or a Omni 4000 air brush, but am still trying to figure out if I need a new compressor.  I currently own a porter-cable 2 HP, oiless, 6 gallon tank, portable  compressor with regulator that I use for my nail guns.  I do not have a feel for how much air flow these little airbrushes use, if it is not a lot, maybe the compressor will not run very often and I can put up with the noise.  Does any one out there use one of these little pancake tank  compressors with their airbrush?

Thanks for the advice
