Home style Vaccum Electro Plating
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, November 14, 2003 6:58 PM
Some time ago I read an "how to " on making a vaccum chamber to simply electroplate an aircraft ( I think it was a B29 but I'm not sure ) any way that mag was disposed of and in hind sight I should have kept it. The whole concept was fairly simple but now 15 years later I can't recall how. The aluminium coated plane looked fabulous and real because it had real aluminium on it. Does any body else remember it?

Yea - FSM did an article several years ago (it was the old format) and showed the building and prepping of a B-17 for plating - Check the archives

Thanks for the response. I knew that something was written and am glad I wasn't dreaming it.
