Pace Peacekeeper Booth

Hey Gip no problem, I was shopping for months trying number one to get up enough money and number two to make the right decision concerning a booth as I have wanted one for years. Here on the Oregon coast waiting for a time to paint outside with wind, rain, etc. it was causing me some problems. The dirt suddenly blowing into a set of window frames I had just painted was the final straw.

 The Artograph was on sale at ModelExpo for 298 and free shipping so I went for it based on adds I had read. Well it was a big dissapointment. In my and only my opinion it is a joke for some one who paints with all mediums and the filter prices are crazy.

 As I stated at the start of this thread Pace made me nervous after spending 60.00 to send the Artograph back so when he offered to ship it to me for a 30 day trial I figured he must be pretty sure of his product. I have not been dissapointed. As far as cfm's I believe it is 375 or near there, but I don't care to much about specs just the way it works. 

 I vent out the top straight up and a 90 out the wall of the garage. My garage is a clean area never used for cars and contains my layout. It also opens directly into the kitchen via a fire door. I can paint all day out there and use primer in rattle cans and the wife smells nothing at all in the garage or the house. I still wear a respirator so I always check with her and she has been out there checking and NO SMELL whatsoever. When you go outside the vent flaps are standing straight out and you can smell the paint.

 I think for the money granted it's not cheap, but I got a great booth that meets my needs completely and I am very satisfied. And a set of lungs is kept free of particles and solvents. Worth every penny!!             Jerry

Huh? You express your opinion (your right), am shown you are not as correct as you thought (welcome to the club, what took you so long?), am willing to learn more about that which you dismissed (admirable), and we're to express displeasure?

What these guys said. I have a Peacekeeper and love it as well. It's a little pricey but the shipping is free. One way to look at it is, why keep spending all that money on cheaper booths when in the end you will probably end up with this one? Unless you can make your own(I can't) As far as the noise goes, It's really nothing that can be heard with the door shut. I mean you don't need hearing protection or anything. Also, the fan speed can be throttled up or down. Hope this helps.

I have the big Pace Peacekeeper and I absolutely love it!  It's big, ventilates very well and also serves as my workbench! 

Hi, well that issue of noise was also one of my main concerns as I suffer from a hearing disorder. At it's highest level( the only one I use) I would put it at about 60% quieter than the vent over our stove in the kitchen. It is about 20% more quiet than the Artograph I had. It is very quiet, it also has two built in lights that I use daylight flor. in and a duplex outlet on the side run by switch that I plug my compressor into. You won't be dissapointed. The booth is huge, I use the right side to store my turntables for painting and solvents and bottles etc. I also let things sit there and dry when I have many parts to do. The extended shelf on the front is where the airbrush holder and misc. go.

 The only modification I did was to slide a piece of foam pipe insulation on the front edge of the shelf, it fits very snug and makes a nice arm rest when I am brushing, also keeps me from knocking my noggin when coming up from lower storage shelves. I have my booth mounted at 50" so it is eye level for me.

The first Artograph booth I had leaked like a open door, it vented out two 4" side vents ok. but it also sent air out the corners of the base where the sheet metal corners were open. 50% would go out the vents and another 50% into your room. Plus it required expensive filters you can only buy from them. It also claims no outside vent is needed, right if you want to kill yourself with fumes as solvent does not stop in these filters, period, it needs outside venting. That created another problem as you need a converter to duct two four inch pipes into one.

These are only my opinions based on experience I have had so I hope it helps someone else save some steps and money.                                                Jerry
