Thanks guys...

I'm more of a rattle can painter than an airbrusher tho; something about the mixing ratio/application distance/clogging thing that makes me nervous about using the AB on my first kit in a few years...

One thing I just wanted to throw out was that MM metalizer and Alclad aren't that different in price. The alclad is only slightly more expensive. I find the Alclad sprays much nicer though.

Have you considered Hawkeyes Talon products? I LOVE them! I use his acrylic ones. Heres a couple of examples on my 1/32 Saber. The leading flaps & drop tanks...........Harv

Hi Al... That's probably what I'll use; I was thinking bare metal, but it's likely to tear all to heck when I burnish it...

What did you use for primer, and to seal the finish afterwards? MM sealant or Future?

A few years ago I did a C-47 and an A-26 in natural metal. I used MM buffing aluminum from a spray can and got good results.

I really want to do finish my 1/32 P-47D in NMF, and have spent alot of time researching the results between Bare Metal Foil and Testor's Metallizers "Aluminum Plate"; AlClad II is too expensive in my opinion (at this time), and I'm not sure if my cheapy 30 buck Testor's AB could handle it...

I've thought seriously about the idea of BMF or at least household foil, but my kit is a raised panel line and rivet queen, and not really too keen on the idea of having to remove every single panel line and rivet (of which I estimate over 700 alone on the fuselage Censored [censored]...

I've seen others post regarding NMF, only to be referred to another site or manufacturer touting their product, and not neccessarily how to achieve the best end result (Except for some Michael McLeod guy who did a side by side, many different aspect scientific test of all known NMF's)

Seeing as how my kit is raised and all, I would like to know which MM Metalizer finish would best work on my P-47D?
