Actually yeah I think it is about the size of my pinky finger. It happened on my 1/72 Tamiya Japanese fighter I'm building, so overall the area is not really big.

I think what I should have done a ABed the gloss coat instead. Or used no gloss coat. I have put decals on my armor models without one and using Microset and Microsol they look fine, even over zimmerit.

I just wanted to try gloss coat since this is my first plane model.

There must have been a spot on the model that the paint didn't adhere to properly. The spot wouldn't be about the size of a finger, would it?

An overall gloss coat won't attack just one area, unless that area was already affected.

So long folks!

OK

Here is what happened. I am trying to complete my first airplane model. It has been painted with Tamiya acyrlics and once painted it has not been touched in more than a month. (Life and stuff you know). So anyway, I picked up some Testor's acrly gloss coat for decalling. And when I applied it to this one spot on the model it made the paint come up and start to run! Banged Head [banghead]

Now here is the weird thing, it only really happened in that one spot. All the other spots where  I brushed on the gloss coat are fine. Sigh [sigh]

BTW, the gloss was bought new 2 days ago.

So any ideas what went wrong?

Thanks
