badger airbrush is killing me...
Posted by Noname888 on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 8:28 AM

Hi everyone, I bought a badger 200SG and a Compressorwith connection 1/8" BSP. I found out that the badger airbrush needs a special hose to connect to. But where can I find a badger air hose with 1/8" on the other side for my compressor. Because I've seen the air hose for badger airbrush, they are all 1/4 for the other side...So plz help me out...I really want to start AB as soon as possible...THank you all~~~

All you need to get going is a 1/8-1/4 adaptor like this (link for example purposes only - you can buy it anywhere).  Most hobby shops which sell airbrushes should carry this part. Hardware stores which sell air tools and accessories may also have them.

Badger sell vinyl or braided airhose with 1/8" thread at the compressor end. You should be able to find it at most Badger airbrush dealers. If you are in England, see the Everything Airbrush web page.

If you are in the US and cannot find a Badger dealer, go to Lowe or Home Depot. You can easily find a "1/8" female to 1/4" male" adapter for $2-3. The 1/8" NPT (National Pipe Thread for US) may not fit the 1/8" BSP (Bristish Standard Pipe) perfectly. But they are close enough that some telfon tape will seal them properly for you.

Next time, don't buy BSP if you are in the US. In England, you have no problem.

Yes, this regulator/filter is a typical setup for airbrush compressors. But didn't your compressor comes with one? If not, go get one.

A disphram regulator is good because it tends to provide more precise pressure setting. The filter is a must for compressor. You may save the trouble of finding the adaptor. This item typically costs $15-20 on the US Ebay with free shipping.

Make sure that your compressor can provide at least 0.5 CFM at least 10 psi higher than your preferred spray pressure setting. The margin is good for a pulsation free sir source.
