Good compressor?
Posted by ridleusmc on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 2:19 PM
I'm happy to say that I'm becoming at least proficient with my airbrush. I've used it on a couple of projects, and I'm very happy with my results. However, I'm sick of dealing with those silly propellant cans. I really don't like them, especially the fumes put off when I disconnect them. I've decided to invest in a compressor. Noise, size (compact and portable), durability, and price are the major factors. So what's the best compressor.

Or do what I did,
For half the cost of a compressor, I just bought an airtank, regulator and moister trap.
Granted I have to go fill the tank from time to time....but 200lbs of pressure lasts a long time, and it allows me to paint at 3am without waking the family.

Check out your local hardware stores or Wally-world ..... find a small industrial compressor with tank, regulator, and moisture trap. You should be able to get everything you need for around $100.

Two questions first:

1) What price range are you talking about?

2) Do you want the compressor for the airbrush only?

Mike

In Response to MikeV. I'm thinking under $150 and for airbrush only. I think I'm going to go to Wally World and check out the hardware section.
