Rich....where do you live.....what is your ideal booth.....and how much are you willing to spend?

I can give you many ideas.......home made. Better and cheaper than on-line. On-line buying, that is.

Hi Rich...I personally have never seen one sitting in a LHS...too high-dollar/low turnover for them to stock...but I live in a relatively small city, so they might be on the shelf in a larger center.

But I'd have to agree with namrednef...you can build one that incorporates the best features (for you) and to whatever custom dimensions you wish, for considerably less than purchasing a manufactured one. I'm building one myself right now, and I'm no carpenter by any means...lol...

Good luck

Brad

Lazy-Susan + cardboard box with white tissue paper top for light + Duct Taped dryer tube running to exhaust fan = Spray booth...

Cost? 4 bucks for duct tape, 2.00 for Lazy-Susan... Dryer hose and box, free from appliance store dumpster.

I can't remember ever having seen a hobby shop that actually stocked paint booths for airbrushing.  I know of a couple of guys who special ordered a paint booth thru their LHS.  I have however seen at least three hobby shops which had a used paint booth for sale - in fact I purchased mine used from a hobby shop in Junction City.  The previous owner was stationed at Ft. Riley, been transfered overseas and couldn't take the booth with him.  Got it for 50 bucks (which was only 5 bucks more than the fan I was going to buy for the booth I was planning to build).

If I lived where you do, I'd grab the Yellow Pages and start calling the hobby shops, paint/painting equipment supply stores and any paint gun/airbrush suppliers to find out if they stock/order new paint booths or have a used one for sale.  Basically, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Have you asked a local hobby shop to order one for you if you give them a downpayment or pay up front?

Pace Peacekeeper. Spend the money today and never look back...

A cardboard box on a lazy susan type deal is fine if you are in any of the following situations- single, kids are out of the house, you don't have dogs or cats, etc. Otherwise, you will want something solid and well built that sits on a stable platform.

Jeff
