A question of the "Wash"?

Thanks for the tip.  Will do.

Give the Future about a week to cure before using oils for washes.  Most brands of turpenoid will eat through un-cured Future.

Not to push particular products, but I like Pro-Modeller wash.  It's so simple to use that even I can do it.  I believe it only comes in light and dark, but I've found that those meet most of my wash applications.  Apply it over Future, then you can flat-coat it after it's dried (about an hour, tops).

Hi mbh8585...welcome to the dark side...I myself have recently switched my focus to armour  and run into these questions. My research has revealed to go directly over the gloss finish of the Future. If the model has a flat texture, the wash will tend to bloom (an effective technique in it's own right for fuel stains, etc...but probably not what you're after for an overall wash)...the gloss will also aid the capillary action of drawing the paint to the details. If you can get your hands on the July/08 FSM, there's an article in there.

One thing I will point out is that I have had disasterous results using "Weber Natural" turpenoid (refer to my thread in the Techniques forum)...it dissolved the Future and the Tamiya paint! Regular Weber Turpenoid is suppose to be good though...
