Sounds like a good deal if it's a genuine item. For that price though, it could be a Chinese-made clone. If you can post up a pic or a link to the item it might be possible to confirm.

I'm an idiot!!! I had taken the tip protector off to check out the needle when I opened it. I never put it back on. as a result the air wasn't focusing around the needle. It works perfectly now.

Jeordicat, I definitely recommend this brush. Works awesome. And despite my past impressions of siphon feeders it cleans quite easily. Pick it up if you get the chance!

Is the Bdger 150 any good?  I'm thinking about buying it off of ebay.  I have never owned an airbrush before, and this will be my first.

I only suggest this because I've done it....Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid] BUT, is the head assembly done up tight?

In addition to the suggestions so far, check that the needle lock nut is tight and that the needle retracts when you pull back on the trigger. It willbe easier to see if this is happening with the rear of the handle off. (you will need to remoce this anyway to check the lock nut).

30 PSI is more than plenty.  My siphon feed Badger 200NH which is similar, paints perfectly at 15-20 PSI and will actually draw paint at even lower air pressure.  That leaves a few questions.

Is the air working?  i.e. is a powerful blast of air coming out the tip?

Are you thinning enough? The paint should be thinned to the consistency of 2% milk, which may require (depending upon the paint) a 2:1 or even 1:1 paint/thinner ratio.

Did you pull the trigger all the way back?  Just as an extreme test.

Does the 150 have any sort of tip guard or cap that needs to be removed?

If you are using a siphon bottle (as opposed to an open top color-cup), is there a hole in the siphon cap to prevent vacuum lock?

May seem odd to be checking but since the 150 is a double action brush, you have to pull back on the trigger for paint to flow, pushing down on the trigger only allows air through the brush, you control the paint flow by moving the trigger back and forth.

Hope this helps.

Just bought the badger 150 today. First time using a siphon feed. Unfortunately the paint doesn't seem to be drawn up. I was using about 30psi. I thinned the paint down but it still doesn't work.

Not sure what could be wrong.
