PAINT SPILL

What kind of paint was it?

Enamel! Oh my. All I know is that only lacquer thinner can efficiently remove it but there might be some cleaning agents or paint removers available there in the US that are more textile friendly.

Sorry cant help but my heart goes out to you. Been there, got the paint stained rug, stained tshirt, stained pants......
All I can suggest is some flowers for the wife, it wont help with her but her freind and family will think your not that bad....

Ok, I'm doomed...-oh yeah, the spill happened a couple of weeks ago, I still have a little bit of foot colored like my german ww2 troops-oh well, thanx for the suggestions.

I spilled a jar of paint and it ruined one of my squadron signal books. I now secure a piece of plastic on the bottom of the jar so I can't knock it over. I am sorry. I don't know of any products to remove enamel.

I spilled some the other day and minerspirits did a little bit, enough so that my mom didnt find anything.

i know just how u feel; last nite i was doing a little touch up work on a model, and spilled a goodly amount of paint...
it was all over the place, had to run for the paper towels and mineral spirits 4 quick clean-up, then my room smelled pretty bad 4 awhile, but at least i didn't ruin the kitchen table.... but if i'd been at the table, i probably wouldn't have spilled the paint bottle...
oh well, no use crying over spilled... enamel ?
and better luck next time....
(maybe cassibill can give u some pointers about multitasking...
as 4 me, i didn't even have the excuse that i was doing more than 1 thing at a time !! )

Years ago, I took a pair of pants with a yellow spot on the cleaners. They told me if it was paint, it wouldn't be a problem to have it removed. If it was mustard, however, there was no way! (Go figure!) So I'd take the shirt into a dry cleaners and ask them about it and also ask them what you might use on the carpet. Other option for the carpet is to call a professional carpet cleaner.

I just did the same thing during the Victoria Secret show - actually during one of the commercials not during the show!!!!

Anyway, I spilled some Model Master paints on my shirt, jeans, chair and floor. I tried to blot everything up with papertowels to get as much up right away as possible. After that the only thing that I had to even try and remove it was my Testor airbrush thinner. My carpet is a cream color and I was able to get everything out - with only minor shading that only I can see (landlord can't even see it!!!!) As for the clothes - they went right into the wash after a thorough scrubbing with the thinner and the laundry detergant. I must have been real lucky because nothing faded or ran and everything looks just like they did before. I was able to get all of this accomplished in about 30 minutes, so that probably helped out alot to with little to no drying time.

I'm pretty sure this won't help you if this happened some time ago, but maybe for the next time!
