Red Sable are definitely my preferred type as well. And you get what you pay for.Take care of your brushes and they will last far longer.

Like most of the modellers here, I have many different kinds of bristles for many different jobs. BUT, if I had to choose just one to paint with, I would use Kolinsky red sable only. Nothing works like it - it holds paint well, but puts it on depending on how you manipulate the brush; heavy if you press hard, light if you press lightly. I used one just today as a matter of fact. Mine are Winsor and Newton from a local art supplies store that sells over the web. Some here will tell you that they are too expensive and not worth the extra money. I suggest you get at least one of this type just to see for yourself. They are awesome. My My 2 cents [2c]

What is the best bristle to use? Nylon seams a bit stiff and would leave lines with enamel, sable and cammel looks soft enough. What type of brush do you use?
