Like most of the modellers here, I have many different kinds of bristles for many different jobs. BUT, if I had to choose just one to paint with, I would use Kolinsky red sable only. Nothing works like it - it holds paint well, but puts it on depending on how you manipulate the brush; heavy if you press hard, light if you press lightly. I used one just today as a matter of fact. Mine are Winsor and Newton from a local art supplies store that sells over the web. Some here will tell you that they are too expensive and not worth the extra money. I suggest you get at least one of this type just to see for yourself. They are awesome. My
