Thanks, Triarius.

That actually explains alot the first figure that did not have problems I used no undercoat. This one I used a black (gloss used by accident), so I get what your saying and it makes sense. Luckily this is a VLS Figure I picked up for about 12 bucks and only got it because it was so cheap to practice on.

Thanks  Again

Scott

You don't need thicker paint, you need a different undercoat.

Under coat flesh with white as a base. You can apply yellows, reds, and browns to the white for different effects in different areas, too (essentially pre-shading.)

The pigment loads of many pastel colors are relatively low. Even with the addition of hiding agents (essentially colorless semi-opaque pigments) their hide is poor. Undercoating with white greatly increases surface reflection, and will actually make the skin tones more vibrant.

Anyone have any ideas how I can do this?

I'm trying to paint a 120mm figure and have had to apply 3 coats already because the XF-15 Flat flesh is so thin. Funny thing is I used this same paint on a different 120mm figure without problem. Any ideas?

Thanks

Scott
