Badger 150 Trigger 'Rebound' Problem
Posted by bbrowniii on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 5:56 PM

I've got an old and trusty Badger 150, that I am generally pretty happy with (yeah, I know, the clean up can be a bit of a PITA, but...)

Recently, I noticed that when I would release the trigger the air flow would seem to continue for a second or so.  Today when I was using it, I'd take my finger off the trigger, the needle would go home and stop the paint flow, but the air kept on a-blowin' for about 15 - 20 seconds.

So I am wondering if I need to do something to it, or replace something, or send it to Badger for a bit of a tune-up.  Any suggestions?

Get some glycerin and pull the air valve from the body and LIGHTLY lube the action. I've the same brush (actually two versions 150 & 100LG) and that does the trick for me.

So long folks!

Great, thanks for the advice.  I'll give it a try.

One question - 'glycerin'?  Where should I look for that?  (I'm only familiar with it when it shows up with its good friend 'nitro-'... Blush [:I]  Sorry, couldn't resist...)

But seriously, where should I look?  Hardware store?  Baking aisle?

EDIT:  Never mind, BGrigg...  I googled it and realized I know what you are talking about!  Thanks again!

Boyd,

If BGrigg's process doesn't work - get it to us for a full refurbishment.  sounds like it could use a new spring and maybe a clean plunger - send it in we'll take care of it and get back to you asap.  likely a no charge refurb.

Ken

Thanks a lot.  That is good to know.  I'll be trying BGrigg's suggestion out today or tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have positive results to report.  Failing that, it'll be in the mail next week!
