I am relatively new to the hobby & don't have the experience that the other posters have, but I've had to use 3-4 light coats of future before decals & washes.

A few people on this forum are able to apply 1 heavy coat of future & pull it off.  I tried this method & had alot of pools.  I had to strip the future with windex.  A few light coats worked well for me.

Thanks smokinguns3, I just put my first coat on and I am waiting for  it to dry. I can't wait to finish this build.

I usualy put on a few coats till it looks good and shiny, and yes after the decals are on you should put on another coat before weathering after that you can closs coat it of flat coat it.

Thanks dmk for the advise I will remember this. I also found I think what I wanted to know by searching a little more. Especially after looking for two hours.

If you have enamels under the Future and you are using an enamel wash, I would definately use a couple coats, maybe three or four. I had two coats of Future over light gray enamel on a model the other day. I hand brushed some red enamel over that for a final detail marking and saw the lighter gray underneath dissolve and mix with the darker red, and that was just with paint, not thinner.
