Camo technique

Hey guys, merry Christmas to everybody and happy new year, now to businesses, I am trying to get a very detailed and somewhat complicated camo design on one of my models, The Messerschmitt 109 and I'm having a very hard time, I tried it with a template made of thick paper but it didn't turn out too good, so I am thinking a low masking adhesive paper or something like that to reduce the distance between the surface and the camo template, any ideas or suggestions?

Very much appreciated

Thanks everyone!

Daniel

there was an issue of FSM that had a how to on this.. IIRC they used index cards and sprayed pretty cloas, gives soft edges and you can use the pattern t great effect. I have never personally tried it.
