Dot filterting
Posted by deepcore on Sunday, January 25, 2009 8:56 PM

Hi

I've readin FSM magazine of "dot filtering" with oil paints to creat weathered paint effect(s).

I saw it used on a Tiger tank in a recent issue.

Any suggestion on which color (oil) paints to use in weathering black (paint)?

Think SR-71.

 Thanks

Not sure, but i was thinking of doing that to a CH-53E, most of the pictures i have seen show the aircraft pretty grimmy.

I would think something in the range of dark grey would work. My plan was going to paint the base color on a piece of scrap plastic and then try a few different colors to see what happens.

I will be interested to see how it works for you, good luck,
