I wash my assembled model in warm water with a bit of dish soap and scrub out the recessed areas with a soft toothbrush and let it air dry. If any dust settles on it I use a tack cloth to remove it and then wipe it down again with a lens cloths or wipe. Another item I use are Wet Ones or like brand... they are very convienent for spot cleaning and fast wipe down before painting and they dry very fast.

Hope this helps.

I scub my parts with an old tooth brush and a 1/10 ratio of simple green cleaner and distilled water (you don't want mineral deposits on your parts left from tap water).

I also have a squeeze bottle of 70% alcohol I use as a final rinse (not really needed though).

If I am in a hurry I blow most of the rinse water off with my airbrush and put them in a food dehydrator to speed dry them (use the lowest heat setting unless you want warped parts)

Be careful with small parts and the toothbrush and flick them from your finger/tweezers or whatever.

Hope that helps.

Oh, I have a buch of old used square plastic Gerber baby food containers which are great for storing washing soulution and rinse water/alcholol.

I never put any water on an assembled model to clean it.

I usually use Polly S Plastic prep on it or Isopropyl alcohol for a wipedown then handle it with Nitrile or Latex gloves so as not to get skin oils on it again although I really haven't had any adhesion problems with or without gloves handling it.

When I first open a kit, I wash all the parts with Dawn.  Before painting, I wipe the model down with Plastic Prep.  That stuff is great.

I make a small wad with kitchen towel, then dampen this with Tamiya acrylic thinner, you only need a few drops, then wipe the kit down.

I find it gets rid of grease, and drys in seconds unlike water.

Too many bad experiences with water seeping out of crevices where I haven't left the model to dry long enough.

I use dish detergent, warm water, and a 600 grit piece of sandpaper.
