what do the arrows mean

putting together an AFV Stryker MGS and then i come to a painting direction that i have never seen before, it says :megenta ( then left arrow-then right arrow ) gold,then there's  green (left arrow-right arrow ) purple,cannot find anything else in directions for explanation,does this mean to use one or the other or to mix the two together-----confused

Presumably these are colours for the periscope lenses.

The two colours suggested are special (and expensive) colour-shifting "toner" paints in the Gunze range. Magenta-Gold is CM04  and Green-Purple is CM01 I believe these are in their lacquer based range, and I suspect they're not widely available in the US.
