Model Masters Enamel ?'s Hardener?
Posted by Sproket on Sunday, March 1, 2009 12:42 PM

Im painting a canopy and it has been 2 days since I applied my base coat of white which was over primer.

Can I sand the enamel base coat? I do see a small piece of lint.

Im going to apply another coat of base as well. Can these model master enamels be sanded? They feel hard when dry but if I leave my finger on it to long it gets tacky.

The model master white base enamel is from a spray can. I will airbrush the rest.

Thanks

Gloss or flat. Gloss, I'd let it set a week. Flat, you can sand it in an hour.

What is the temperature where you sprayed it and where it is drying?

If it is too cold it can take a long time to dry.

Move it to the warmest place possible and if you sprayed it very thick expect it to take a lot longer to dry.

The spray can says MM enamel #2943 Bright white.

I live in AZ and very dry here. Its 75 degree during day and colder 70 at night in the room. The canopy is in a room that get no air blown into it, so its in a low dust place.

I really like the colors MM has for enamels.

Is there a hardner I can use to mix with before I spray the enamel?? Do you have a name?

Thanks
