Thanks for the advice Mike! I did use dark gray last time to preshade when I built my Showtime 100 F-4J, so I think I will do that again too on my Marines F-4J. Big Smile [:D]

Rand,

I would say the colors you mentioned should work fine.

Experiment a little on an old model and see what the differences are in black versus a dark gray. I have never done preshading so I would not know what color works best.

Preshading Question for F-4J Phantom II ?

I would like to know what color is best for preshading an F-4J that will be painted the standard Gull Gray over all top and White on the bottom? I usually use black or a very very dark gray. I am planning to weather it and I dont want to panel line detail to stand out to much.

Any help and advise is greatly appreciated.
