Best clear coat for white?
Posted by VIPER0177 on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 4:08 PM
I want to do a wash on my F-16s landing gear and bays and was wondering. What is the best clear coat to use that won't yellow? I sprayed MM gloss insignia white. I've tried future in the past but it yellowed same with testors glosses.

Something is wrong if Future is yellowing.

Was it old? Was the white fully cured underneath?

Mike the white had about 2 weeks to dry and it was a new bottle of future. It yellowed like the next day after it was sprayed. I was shocked that it yellowed at all and that it did it that fast.

That is odd and I suspect maybe the Future had sat on the shelve a long time before you bought it or somehow it reacted with the white paint.

It's hard to tell sometimes what causes these things.
