update on Paasche DA3000R
Posted by mwp on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 9:11 AM
I spoke with Paasche and was told this compressor is piston driven not diaphram. (web sight not updated according to Paasche) I was considering the DA400R, but I have been reading here to get a compressor with a tank. I know the DA400R has more power, but I am going to use it for modeling only with a Paasche VL brush. I looked at the chart provided by Paasche rating their equipment compatability and components and see the DA400R is best with the VL airbrush, but has any one used the DA3000R with a VL airbrush and is there enough power to run the airbrush efficiently? I'm new to airbrushing so don't mean to sound dumb with these questions, but it is what it is. I would appreciate anyone's advice and thoughts.

For a $9.45 difference, the DA400R is much better choice.

For a twin cylinder compressor with a tank, try this.
