Advice on Alclad

I am looking at doing some NMF and i am consdiering useing Alclad. I have done a search and read the post on useing it, but i am not sure which ones i should use for different periods and countrys. I will be useing it on 1/72nd Aircraft, mainly WW2 US fighters and bombers and Russan Jets. Are there certain shades best suite4d for different aircrfat or does it not really matter which ones i use.
