A 1 foot square face opening is quite small, relatively speaking.  Is that large enough to handle all your spray applications?  The fan rating you cite should be enough that if you wanted to enlarge your booth to 2 square feet (1 X 2), you could.  Of course, at your booth's current size, the fan should be providing more than enough pull (>200fpm) to adequately exhaust any vapors.

On a practical level, it sounds pretty decent.  You have more than twice the airflow of my booth with a smaller frontal open area to boot, so your booth should have a lot better draw than mine, and mine works pretty well.

Suitable Spray Booth?
Posted by IceDragon122 on Thursday, March 26, 2009 1:07 AM

hello everyone

Just recently finished building my new spray booth and had a few questions.

My booth is a box measuring 12inches X 12inches. Inside the back is a duct fan (brushless) that claims to pull around 250 cfm. Infront of the fan is a filter used in home ventilation. there is a tube in the back that funnels the air from the duct fan through a tube to the outside air.

I was wondering if this would be sufficient to keep any fumes away. I'm going to spray acrylics through this booth.

Thx for any help! I owe you guys!
