Leaking Airbrush
Posted by cvsusn on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 8:14 PM

I have a Badger 360 that I use exclusively as a gravity feed.  Acrylics are the only paints used in the brush.  On Sunday, I was spraying Gerald Voigt's Talon Aluminum.  The brush leaked like a sieve through the hole beneath the cup forward of the rotary seal . . . at least that is where it appears to come from.

The brush receives a thorough cleaning after every color.  There shouldn't be any wayward dried paint.  As much as I like the Talon aluminum, I'd prefer to put more of it on the model than on the floor.

Anybody have any ideas what may be occuring?  Thanks!

I don't have a 360, but I'm going to guess that the little hole is located behind the needle bearing and the needle bearing is leaking.  If so, Badger will fix it free.  I've heard that their turn-around time is pretty fast.

Thanks for the insight, Don.  Much appreciated.
