Posted by Aus Smurf on Sunday, March 14, 2010 10:23 PM

G'day crew,  just wondering if any of you guy's an gall's have a good idea for a spray booth for a flat that has little exterior ventalation in the hobby area.

I know that there may be a post about this already here but I had no luck finding it.

I have finaly lashed out an got a AB and compressor but have bugger all room for the booth an no ventilation, and as the wife may scramble my eggs if I fumagate the cat with thinners.Black Eye

Any suggestions will greatfully be recived.

One of my apartment (flat) dwelling buddies has one of these, and he swears by it.

I have been over while he did some airbrushing, and for a small, quiet unit, it works very well.  I am sure you could find a supplier in Oz as it it a Japanese product.

Also, whether you airbrush indoors or not, I highly recommend using acrylics, especially Tamiya, which thin nicely with common rubbing alcohol (91%) if you can find it.  They clean up with Windex or other similar glass cleaners with ammonia.  This greatly reduces the small and also the associated whining noise form significant others!

I made my first one out of a cardboard box and a range hood fan >something to pull air away and out will work.I built this one from alumaboard and a air conditioner fan/motor with a 2' flourecent fixture. With 4" dryer hose to an outlet ,which could be hung out the window.setup.jpg picture by krow113

Thank you ,Krow113

Thanks for the idea's guy's. This may sound dumb, but is it the paint's or the cleaning solvent's that are the main problem? As I have purchased a self contained cleaning pot with filter to spray the cleaning solvents into when cleaning the brush.

Thanks for the help.
