Just out of interest, how would one go about painting this kind of camouflage? - http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/676_1_105492615.html

http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/676_1_105492615.html is a field applied white wash. You can spray or brush on thin flat white paint or use white pastels to create the effect. This white wash was typically applied with a large brush or broom...nothing fancy just coverage to obscure and break up the camo pattern. Being a white wash, it washed away with moisture and rubbing.
