Alclad advice please?

Regular lacquer thinner will clean the airbrush.  Note that the black primer is only for under Their Chrome and Polished Aluminum.  The other colors work best over gray primer.

Alclad is great stuff!  Do an internet search for "Alclad", and you will find several helpful articles.  Swanny (who also did a great article on Future) is one that comes to mind.  Good luck.

I am not a fan of the Alclad primer and neither are some friends of mine.  we all experienced issues with the Alclad primer not drying for days.  I have had very good success with using a gray primer and then polishing the heck out of it to get a super smooth finish.  I have also used regular black as a base and then polishing that for the specific colors like chrome.  Best practice I've had is polishing the surface with up to 12,000 grit materials.  Also, make sure the surface is extremely clean along with smooth.  The Alclad will really pick up any scratch, dust, etc. 

Recommend a little experimentation, before committing to an expensive kit.  Good Luck.

I have used both lacquer thinner and enamel thinner (turpentine or paint thinner) for cleaning Alclad and never had a problem. It sure cleans up much easier than acrylics!
