Yes I would have to agree with you, matter of fact any further words would be a waste of time, which is why I now have a hose that actually works.
I'm afraid words of wisdom would be lost on you Bruce. Besides, there's a whole article in the new issue of FSM on how to stop leaks with Future...
Tony
Problem solved, no more leak.
That tape was loads of fun to work with.
Still amazed that my Iwata hose fitted fine without any leaks yet the Badger hose quality doesn't seem to be at the same leave?
Anyway all is good, now just waiting for my Patriot to arrive.
Transport strike has delayed everything by a week or 2.
So I used a cheaper hose to replace it from TPC Global, and now it works fine, so as I said fix that hose Badger, but then again its probably made in China !
Hows that saying go"If it ain't broke don't fix it !" Well it is broke so please fix it !
Please Tony lets hear some more words of wisdom.
BruceM You think by now, considering how long this particular hose has been selling, they could have fixed this problem? It would seem its a regular problem too after doing a little bit of searching on different forums. C'mon Badger fix this hose!

C'mon Badger fix this hose!
Maybe it ain't the hose, maybe it's the operator. But then, that leaves no one to blame but yourself so...
I learned long ago that threaded parts that hold pressure will leak. Depending on the joint, I use beeswax, pipe dope or Teflon tape to seal the threads. The only time I don't is on garden hoses, as they use a washer to seal the joint.
So long folks!
I managed to pickup some threaded tape at lunchtime today.
Will attach to the compressor tonight and see what happens.
Local Badger agents also pointed out that its 2x metal piecesjoined and these are prone to leak etc.
Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
My hose did this too tighten it up 2 weeks later the hose blew out of its fitting on brush end had to get new hose. ACESES5
I had the same problem. Either the threads on the outlet of the compressor, or the fitting on the hose, were not tapered. It screwed all the way on to the stop without resistance, rather than get tighter the last couple of turns. A wrap of teflon tape solved the problem fine. There's not a lot of thread area to work with, so trim the tape cleanly. Try not to let an end stick into the air path where it might break loose later and cause havoc downstream. Doesn't take much tape.
I ordered the Badger 10 ft braided hose from Hobbylinc and had the exact same problem, all brand new connectors and mine leaked at the airbrush connection end. I had also gotten a real cheap braided hose with 1/8" connection ends and it worked very well with an adapter, no leaks at all, sounds like theres a few of these leaky Badger hose about, maybe it was just a bad batch that came out.
Find the leak with dish soap and water. Bubbles will instantly appear where the leak is. Most likely on a fitting, realize a perfect threaded fitting will not leak. There are no perfectly cut threads so wrap the male end in Teflon pipe tape. Split it down the middle, keep it 1 1/2 threads away from the end to avoid getting tape in your system. Tighten 3 turns by hand, 3 with a wrench which should leave 2 threads exposed.
Hi Phil
Thanks for the response.
I'm using a Werther modelling compressor which came from the same local agents for Badger.
The Badger hose went straight on without any adaptors and is turned as tight as possible.
I see what you mean with the hose connector since it can fit the can or fit a compressor.
I'll try and contact the Badger agents and ask them if anybody else has had the same problem i've had.
Since clearly it isn't meant to do that.
Hi John,
Your air hose connection should not be leaking in any way. I have a Badger braided airhose which does not leak. This is when fitted to a Badger reducing adaptor at the compressor end and a Badger 200 airbrush.
If your compressor adaptor is a third party product it may be that the length of the threaded section may not be long enough to seal against the o-ring inside the hose connector. I have had this issue with the very same air hose connected to a generic Chinese-made airbrush - the standard vinyl air hose worked, however. It may be because the braided air hose has a loose nut arrangement which has to seal both the air connector and the "fixed" base of the hose itself.
Hi all
Where the airhose connects to the compressor it seems to be "leaking" air or air is coming out there. Can't feel the air escaping but can here it.
However this doesn't seem to have any negative effects on airbrushing and pressure doesn't drop?
Is this a built-in feature of the hose to regulate the pressure or something?
Its done this since I got it in 2006 but only noticed it again since switching between HGIII brush/Iwata hose and the 360/badger hose.
The Iwata braided hose doesn't do the above.
Just querying this now since my Patriot 105 should be ready for collection this week and if I need a new air hose best to get it at the same time.
Thanks
