Vallejo (et al) paints ...
Posted by pepper kay on Sunday, July 25, 2010 10:05 PM

Hi All:

I live in the Dallas Metroplex area and am trying to find Vallejo or similar ...

I've checked at Hobby Lobby - 2 stores; Hobbytown - 2 stores and DMT ...

No one carries it or has even heard of it ...

Any suggestions where I can find Vallejo or something similar would certainly be appreciated ...

Thanks,

Pepper

I grew up in Dallas. Does Bobbye Hall's Hobby Shop still exist? If so, you may want to check there.

Thanks for the tip ... I read the comments after your 'review' - about 50 - 50 for and against using them ... I'll give them a try on a small order to see what happens ...

Thanks again,

Squadron carries the full line of Vallejo paints. Check out their site.

I don't think Squadron has a walk-in store, I believe they sell only on-line.  Give 'em a call before wasting gas driving over.

Thanks - I know they don't have a walk-in facility, but being right in the area will lead to less frustration if I have to call them ...

I've dealt with Squadron in the past and have always been pleased with everything I've purchased and with their speed and accuracy ...

Thanks,

pepper

Their prices are high, though. Nothing against them...

You might want to check out Michtoy.com and thewarstore.com, if you decide to order online. I have ordered from both and have been pleased.

You might also want to check Sprue Brothers. They usually have a huge selection of Vallejo.. both the Model Air and Model Color.

Great Models is having a 50% off sale on Vallejo paints this month. I think there is 4 more days left. I just bought over $125 worth.
