I've mixed in some Valejjo white with my Lifecolor paints in a pinch a couple times and at first it looked like it worked OK but as I began spraying, I could see it acting funny in the color cup. Nothing crazy, just appeared to be separating.

As long as I kept stirring it occasionally, it worked out fine in the end and I had no problems with the paint on the kit. I wouldn't make a habit of it but it did work those few times I had no choice.

Mixing Lifecolor with other brands?
Posted by DoogsATX on Monday, July 26, 2010 11:31 AM

Anybody have any experience mixing Lifecolor paints with any other brand of acrylic?

I ordered a few bottles in anticipating of painting the Dauntless that I've got on deck, and realized last night that, while I ordered the base colors, I totally blanked on ordering white to do any lightening work. Would I be able to use Vallejo/Model Master Acryl/Tamiya (the three brands I can actually find locally)? Or will I have to place a second order?

On the Bench: 1/32 Trumpeter P-47 | 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109G | 1/144 Eduard MiG-21MF x2

On Deck:  1/350 HMS Dreadnought
