Posted by MIKE-B on Thursday, November 11, 2010 8:42 AM

I need to want to paint a Tamiya  Repsol Honda RC211'06 and MS-9 Fluorescent orange is one of the colors.

Can not find it so is there a substitute? Thanks for any help.

I offer just such a color in either of my paint lines.

Hi, I too am trying to find this paint for this model and the only place I can find it is eTamiya and the shipping costs are prohibitive.  Spoke to a model shop today and they say MS-9 isn't even listed in this year's Tamiya paint catalogue.  Hawkeye's paint looks great but it totals $34 to ship to the UK.  Have you had any luck with an alternative?

Tamiya often releases special colours for certain models in spray-cans only and those are a volume and time-limited release. i.e. One batch is made only.

Best is to pre-order those paints/Cans with the kit before it is released as they soon sell out and once gone ....

They are not part of the standard catalog and doubt that they will be available outside Japan.

As noted above, MS-9 is  a "special purpose" paint for their Mini-4WD range. The catalogue notes "*Not available in some countries"

Back in the day, Testors had individual jars of fluorescent colours, but I believe they're now sold in a set.

Gunze makes a fluorescent orange #174 in their Mr Color (lacquer) range.
