Mid-Tenn Hobbies.

But...from experience...invest in a few shades and try 'em out.

I had great experience with the AMT-7 Blue, but I had some very intense battles with AMT Black. It tended to either go translucent, or lay down grainy.

They also don't seem to reduce well at all. Instead of getting to a consistency of dirty water, it's more along the lines of sand in a cup of water, and it falls out of suspension pretty fast.

Not at all saying they're bad paints...just that there's no perfect paint. White Ensign, like every other brand, has its quirks that will drive some people up the wall.

Hello

White Ensign Models Colourcoat paint can be purchased at

shipcamouflage.com

greatmodels.com

I have had good results with WEM paint.  I dilute it 50% with Tamiya Lacquer Thinner.

If color is important to you, WEM paint is the answer.

You can also order directly from White Ensign Models.

Hi Newcomer

I found a fairly new company - Warship Hobbies - http://www.warshiphobbies.com/ that carries quite a bit of WWII USN, Japanse and German ship colors along with USN and IJN aircraft colors. I have pretty good luck with ordering from them lately. They offer paints in bundle pricing along with indivual paints. The best way to thin for airbrushing or cleaning is to use a high quality laquer thinner. I have thinned down to a 2:1 ratio for airbrushing and have never had a problem. White Ensign manufactures quite a wide array of colors that the major brands do not or cannot cover. The paint covers completely with usually 2 coats. You might give them a look.
