Primer!!!!????? Is it worth it?

Alright I've been building for a number of years now and you'd figure experiance would answer some of the millions of Questions I've got, Instead they just make more.....
I've heard allot about Gunze Sangyos stuff - especially their 3 types of primers each for a different surface! sounds really cool for gimmick prone modelers like me. Anybody have opinions? Are Gunzes paints enamel or Acrylic - Ive never seen them exept online where they usually don't have product discriptions....

When I was a kid I used exclusively testors toxic enamels and probably did irreparable brain damage to myself, after a teenaged to cool for this break I got back into it with no computer and one Hobby shop within driving range i was limited to what was on there shelfs - thankfully tamiya... I love this stuff! but for some reason was always leary about how well it bonded with the plastic - hell you could scrape it off sometimes.. i gues the question is, will Tamiyas Primer be a good investment? I know some people swear by it in there articles - Does it matter what type of primer you use in other words would gunzes primer prep the surface for any type of paint acrylic or enamel?... I guess one way or the other I should just get some and see, but the level of my models construction has gotten so good that I'm really leary about trying new stuff. any opinions would be welcomed!!!
