Paashe D500 Compressor
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, January 15, 2004 6:02 PM
I just picked up a Paashe D500 compressor. I have been testing it out and the gauge only reads 5psi. I believe this model is rated for 40psi. Has anyone had a similar problem?

The D-500 should put out about 20 psi.
Is the bleeder valve allowing too much air out as it runs?
Maybe HistoryInScale (Chris) could help you out on this more as it has been a long time since I used one. Smile [:)]

Mike V:

Thanks. I just checked the compressor and it was the bleeder valve that was open to far. I'm getting 35-40psi now.

My D-500 will kick out roughly 30-40 PSI Ive only seen it hit 40 twice, Now I dont know what the exact rating is......but Ive heard everywhere from 20-40....

Glad you got the problem solved though. You'll want to pick up an airtank for it, though to help smooth out the airflow from the diaphram(sorry Mike didnt mean to steal your info LOL). MikeV told me I would need one, and I thought NAH, mine doesnt pulse....well what happened was I just didnt notice it until I was wrapping up a paint job spraying really thin paints at low PSI, thats when I noticed it! DOH!!!!!! I will pick up my airtank tomorrow, it was in today but I didnt have a chance to make it by there.

To find out more info about what Im reffering to you can check this thread out :

Hope this helps.

That's not my info my friend, it is just a well-known fact of life about the nature of diaphragm compressors. Big Smile [:D]
