Honestly, I'd run a search for this topic on this sub-forum. To my recollection, in the last few months, there have been several very lengthy threads regarding compressors.

Most any compressor will work. You want something that will product at least 40psi at a good rate of volume. There are compressors which will deliver 120+ psi but take a week to fill up a car tire. Pressure isn't a primary concern, volume and rate are.

To control the pressure you need a regulator. The more you spend the better the regulator and the greater control you have over the pressure. Look at spending about $30-$50.

Hey i was wondering if anyone could recommend a compresser for a beginner?I want to get one with a min. of ten psi for preshading

Did you pick out your airbrush yet?

If all you want is just 10 psi for preshading, any airbrush compressor you can get your hands on will work. The cheapest one I saw recently is this.

If you are serious about the hobby, you may consider something more powerful and better made.
