Polar Bear 2100 Twin Piston Compressor w/ Tank

Disclaimer: I have no relationship with the BearAir and do not know any of their sales person.

BearAir has lowered the price of twin Piston compressor with tank to $199. The spec looks quite good. We had some feedback on the Polar Bear 2000 twin Piston compressor without tank, but not this one yet.

The shape of the compressor looks identical to the new Silentaire Scorpion II. Interesting. Anyone knows where BearAir sourced this compressor? By comparison, their Polar Bear 2000 looks like the "FengHua BiDa machine Manufacturing" type made in China.

Most consumer compressors are made in three locations...China....Italy...and some other third world hole. Even some of those for professional/commercial applications that were once built here in the US are now assembled using parts imported from these same sources. It is a marketing ploy so they can add a sticker that says Made In The USA.

I used to be a sales mgr for a company  that sold and serviced compressors...everything from those which provide air for a dentist's work station, tank and pond aeration units as well as HUGE units for the oil and gas industry. In some cases at a site when I would do service calls I would work on something found in someones garage workshop they use to run their nail guns or pneumatic tools to big units used to pump methane gas from landfills to feed big motors or turbines to generate electricity.

Here is a little one that we were preparing to install at a customers site.

For many years, Iwata has put their label on compressors made by Sparmax in Taiwan (Republic of China). They (Iwata and Ding-Hwa) took the effort to maintain quality control. The Iwata/Ding-Hwa airbrush compressor are well received in the market, but considered pricy.

Paasche imports most of their compressor from Mainland China. Badger also imports, but never said from where.

There is no reason that an American company cannot team up with a manufacturer in Mainland China (People's Republic of China) and make high quality compressors. The technology is nothing new except good quality control.

If you take a look at the Dormitory refrigerators sold for $100 at Walmart, you wonder why no one imported a super quiet airbrush compressor using the same motor from China yet. Fenghua makes one like that already.
