Thanks to everyone who replied.

I live near Chicago so moisture we have have here now is frozen  Sad  I paint in my basement spray booth and it is nice and comfy.  I am hoping that his is just a fluke of some type.  I just switched to Vallejo and have been very pleased so far with all their products.  However, this was the first piece I glossed with future.  As far as drying the pieces, I let them air dry after painting.  I do have an extra light bulb in my spray booth and often I will leave this on to pick up the temperature a bit.  Just for grins, I just sprayed some other Vallejo painted pieces wth MM acrylic gloss coat.  I will keep you posted.

Thanks again,

cbreeze

Never used Model Air, but when I spray Vallejo Model Color I thin it with Future and it goes down wonderfully, so I don't think it's a compatibility thing.

My other question is, did you use heat to dry it, like a hair dryer?  Or did you thin it with anything?  Vallejo paints have a latex componant, and will not tolerate alcohol.  They do not react very well to being "speed dried.

Last thought, was your primer completely dried before you sprayed the Vallejo?

Thats all I can think of, hope this helps!

Cbreeze do you live in a humid place like near the ocean? My impression is the Vallejo wasn't fully dry before you coated it with Future.

Vallejo/Future gloss coat problem
Posted by cbreeze on Saturday, January 1, 2011 12:18 PM

Greetings,

I just started using Vallejo Model Air and have been very impressed.  However, I just painted something for my current build with Model Air, waited several days then glossed it with Future from a new bottle.  I just noticed that it had developed tiny, spiderweb like cracks.  Other pieces that were painted with Tamiya acrylics then glossed with the same Future are fine.  I have never had this problem before.  I am suspecting that there might be a compatibility issue between Vallejo and Future.  Has anyone else had this problem and ideas for a possible solution?

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
