Acrylic Brush Cleaning

I use Windex or dish soap and rinse with hot water.

I use Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.  Important is to do it right away after painting. It dries fast, and once dry it is the devil to clean.  Same thing with an airbrush. If acrylic sits in nozzle for more than a minute or two, you'll have trouble.

Methylated Spirits are pretty good at doing the job as well.

Hey everyone.  I was hoping someone could let me know the right way to clean acrylic paint off my brushes after use.  The last time I painted miniatures I just rinsed my brushes in water and dried them by wiping them sideways on a paper towel.  I don't know if this is the correct method and was wanted to know how you guys clean your brushes.  Thanks.

Yep, that's still the right way to go. Though I like to wash them with a little Neutrogena Acne Wash soap, because it's designed to get rid of oils as well as be gentle with the face it works wonders with getting rid of the oils/paint on a brush(without harming the bristles.)

Methylated Spirits are pretty good at doing the job as well.

Methylated Spirits (aka denatured alcohol) works very well for many types of acrylics (eg. Tamiya, Gunze Aqueous, Vallejo)

One thing to note is that alcohol tends to strip the natural oils from the bristles.  

Every few painting sessions, after cleaning the brushes, gently massage in some hair conditioner (the stuff you use on your head) and leave it for a few minutes before rinsing clean.
