Quick Update - I finally got my filter assembly back on using MacGyver-like ingenuity. Once that was done, I took everything apart and re-teflon-taped it. She doesn't leak anymore.

Now I have to build a spray booth so I can actually try this airbrushing-thing out.

The part she broke was the both that holds the Air Filter and connects it to the motor. I can't find a replacement anywhere.

In my defense, it was in the middle of the floor in the basement by my work bench. And, yes, I did consider her insidious ulterior motives.

I use a reasonably quiet Paasche DA400 for airbrushing in the basement workbench.

I keep my Sears 1-HP oil lubricated tools compresssor in the garage and bring it inside only when repair/remodeling work requires it. The Sears compressor is a bit less noisy than most low cost oilless compressors, but I still found it too intrusive in enclosed quarters.

I am on her side.

I actually have a 1.5 gallon compressor that goes up to 180 PSI that I could probably work with. The only problem is that I can't get any replacement parts for it as the manufacturer went out of business. Not a big deal but my wife thoughtlessly broke off the air filter when I left the compressor out in the middle of the floor and she was carrying my laundry to the machine. If I could replace the piece she broke I could use this one.

Did you consider the possibility that your lovely wife is sending you a signal that such noisy machine has no place in the living area of a home?

Other than that, Canadian Tire has a 2 gallon one that goes to 125 psi that goes on sale for $50.00 from time to time.
