Water and Paint Disaster
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, January 19, 2004 8:34 AM
Sad [:(]Angry [:(!]When spraying athe Hull of a ship, the coat seems to be flat. But after a while, I accidentally dropped a few drops of water on the coat of paint. Osmosis of the water took place and patches began to show up! Thus it created unsightly colors on the hull. e.g. some pacthes are darker red than others. Can somebody tell me what happene.

P.S. I used Tamiya Acrylic paint mixed with Tamiya ThinnerWink [;)]Sad [:(]

Carnage, can you just give it another light coat to cover the spots? If you're using Matt paint you have to be very careful of fingerprints or sweaty hands or water drops, etc even when the paint is fully dry. It seems to just leave a permanent stain on the paint surface. I've had this happen to me also and I had no choice that I knew of but to respray. BTW, are the Tamiya paints working better for you with the thinner?

Cheers...Snowy.
