Thanks, Mike, I'll add XF18 to the list for tomorrow as already have X14.  Looks like it might be the go and the mix will be a nice little challenge for me (that'll sound really basic to you guys!).

Thanks again.

Hi guys

I'm kitting up yet again to try to get back into building with my eye on building the Airfix 1/72 Douglas Boston III currently in my stash - have decided not to over-think too much or expect too much from my first attempt.  I haven't built anything for at least 16 years so have been doing a lot of reading to refresh and learn.

Haven't used an airbrush before but my brother-in-law loaned me a never-used (but old) Badger 250 (IIRC) and compressor.  I've had it hooked up (no paint, just air) and everything works but I'll do a fair bit of practice before pointing it at some plastic.

Anyway, I received a pile of Tamiya acrylics for Christmas 2009 (yes, I'm that slow).  I'm off to the LHS tomorrow (two hours' drive) and am getting a few things I need for the Boston (RAF desert scheme).  I've managed to convert most of the Humbrol colours to Tamiya but am struggling with 157 Azure Blue.  Have used this chart - http://www.paint4models.com/paintchart/paintconversionchart20100101b.html# - but only come up with a Vallejo "Dark Blue Grey".  A search on FSM has turned up a Testors Model Master II "Azure Blue" used on some kit reviews.

Have only ever brush-painted Humbrol enamels and some Testors.  Can anyone please recommend a Tamiya version of Azure Blue (if one exists) or let me know if either the Vallejo or Testors is a good replacement.  I noted the Testors colour did not come up in the link above.

Thanks in advance.  Hoping to try some pre-shading with the Boston as well despite its many rivets!  It's fun wading through all these little challenges ... and I haven't even started to build yet!

Cheers

Andy
