Does anyone who lives in the hudson valley know where there is a good place to get testors and/or tamiya paints? I need some tamiya colors and the nearest place is in poughkeepsie. Their prices are ridiculous! it is 3.50 for one bottle of the 10ml.

That's about an average price. I paid $3.10 here for the 3/4oz bottles of Tamiya acrylic and $3.29 for the Testors 1/2oz bottles.

Order online. If you order sufficient amounts you actually save money even with shipping. Sprue Brothers carries both lines.

Scale Hobbyist has the best prices I've ever seen on Testors and Tamiya paints. I calculated it once, and after something like 8 jars you've already made up shipping.

I would normaly order online, the prices are fine but i dont have patience to wait a week for a few bottles of paint. I have very little patience toward some things. I dont mind the extra 2 dollars for ground shipping.

That price is about average.  I usually buy from an eBay dealer who has the Model Master enamels for $3.45.  I buy them a few at a time as I need them.  I just bought two jars and shipping for the first one was 1.99 and .99 for each additional.  He's about the least expensive you will find online.  His seller ID is "sidetrack_hobby".

Shipping's more, but you make it up fast at that price.

Scale Hobbyist is in Mandchester NH. I don't know where  in the Hudson Valley you are but I'm in Athol MA and I usually get orders in 2-3 days. You're not that far from Central MA so I'm assuming shipping times will be similiar. Doogs is right, their prices for MM paint is the best I've seen.

again i really am fine with the prices, its just i have ordered paint and it took 9 days to get here. There is a place about half an hour from where I live ( Florida). There they have testors paint, but not tamiya. It is called mid-hudson hobbies. If you look on Google earth, in southern orange county there is a big reddish brown spot. That is all black dirt. After reading this over, i think i will post a thread in odds and ends. I think i want to know some history of where you live. No. I am not a stalkerStick out tongueWink

I havent been on in a while. I have been too lazy to post anything about this for about a week but about a month ago, a new hobby shop opened up in a small artists village called sugar loaf. This place has models, paint, supplies, scenery items from woodland scenics, and model trains. It is a small village with a main street that has many artists and craftpeople.
