I'm in the final stages of painting a Hasegawa 1\48 P-38. It's not a great kit and it's been a tough build. I've gone with an olive drab\neutral grey paint scheme (enamal paint). After letting the base coat dry, I airbrushed a coat of Future floor wax and let it dry for a couple of days. I then applied decals and a pin wash (Model Master enamal paint with Testors paint thinnner).
When I went to remove the pin wash overflow with a damp paintbrush (Testors Paint Thinner) something odd happened: The overflow came off like I wanted but I think some of the wax did too. Lightly dragging the brush over the pin wash overflow caused a milky streaking to occur. This only happened on the olive drab paint, not the neutral grey paint.
I've never had Testors paint thinner eat thru Future wax before. Any idea what's going on? I'm wondering if another coat of Future will help. But, it's also kind of a neat effect...looks like weathering...so maybe I'll just work with it. But, I would like to know what when wrong. Thanks in advance.
