Hannants Xtacrylix Flat Varnish
Posted by PhilB on Thursday, March 3, 2011 9:39 AM

Has anyone any experience withthis product?

The nearest I can get to a flat finish is best described as a soft sheen when applied over acrylic paint sealed with Future.

I've tried air brushing and paint brushing with various ratios of water, from the instructions suggestion of 10%-15% dilution through to no dilution with little difference.

As I've just taken up modelling again after around 40 years break I've sent the last 2 months experimenting with painting and finishing product and this is the only one that oesnn'tseem to work as it should.

Hi Phil,I use this varnish from more of seven years with no trouble or problems. You can thin it also with white spirit. It allows a very flat finish.........Good varnish...Enrico.

P.S.Try to thin more your varnish...ie.50%-50%...........
