yes, another Future question
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 9:17 PM
i noticed that on the bottle of Future floor wax, it mentions to remove future annualy.
i am very curious as to what that means.
does anyone see any weird affects with future after years of application? i mean, i know it can last for a few months, but i don't know about "years." or even a year.
i'm becoming scared to use this stuff now. but if i know the science behind it, or if someone can clear this up, i wouldn't be as hesitant.

future seems pretty strong. as a clearcoat.
does anyone know if i would be able to draw panel lines over this topcoat? i mean, my base coat is acrylic. and if i were to draw panel lines over it, and try to clean it up with anything, it would ruin the acrylic base.
but i don't know if this will happen with future clear coat. i'm scared to try it. as i don't really have any more scrap peices to test it on. does anyone have any experience with it?
any tip will do.

As long as the Future coat is fully cured 24-48 hours, it’s pretty solid. Strong solvents (i.e. lacquers, ammonia, strong decal setting solutions will still attack it.) I would suggest weathering panel lines with a water based acrylic wash with a drop of vinegar & dish soap added. This won’t attack the Future and will fill in your panel lines. Check this site out. It’s pretty useful:
