what to thin it with?
can i use tamiya lacquer thinner?
can i use off the shelf lacquer thinners?
thanks
Isn't Tamiya lacquer actually acrylic lacquer? There is a problem today with the way paints are labeled. This is true not just in hobby paints. Even at auto parts stores now, cans labeled enamel or lacquer may be acrylic enamel or lacquer, not the old fashioned stuff.

I've been thinning Testor's Dullcoat with generic "Paint Thinner" from Ace Hardware for decades. It works fine.
Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
cheers for that.
what ratio are you using?

On my '109 I used Dullcote straight out of the bottle with a .3 mm tip. Did not observe any issues...
Dullcote is a lacquer, so any hardware lacquer thinner works best.

Just as an aside, I find Dullcoat in bottles getting increasingly hard to find. As a substitute in a pinch, I use flat polyurethane varnish thinned 1:1.
