MM Metalizer
Posted by MikeS71 on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 8:23 PM

Looking for some advice on using the Model Master Metalizer paints.  I'm doing the exhaust on an F-14 and want to use several shades (Aluminum, Burnt Metal, Jet Exhaust).  The question is- the aluminum is a "nonbuff" and the Burnt Metal is "Buffing".  I did the aluminum already, should I seal the aluminum before doing the burnt metal to avoid damage when buffing?  I just dont know how sensitive it is- will buffing with a tissue dmage it or should it be ok if fully cured?

Thanks in advance!

I use MM metallizer exlusively for NMFs. Even when I use non-buff, I still buff it a little ( I use a sock). It actually looks a little better when buffed (so you're OK there). One problem you might encounter though is when buffing the darker Burnt Metal, all that material being buffed off may cover your aluminum color.
