Does anyone know why the wings on the F104C were white?

Possibly something to do with their fighter / bomber role for TAC, where they were tasked with using the B28 nuke - anti-flash?

Nothing to do with anti-flash. More to do with visibility and corrosion control.

I would think Hawkeyehobbies is correct, Every -104 I've seen has painted wings. Not always white but painted.
